Winkler County Municipal Court Warrants
Kermit and Wink Municipal Courts handle city ordinances and fine-only Class C matters, including traffic. A citation that is not answered or resolved may lead to arrest process or a capias pro fine. Each city court keeps its own file.
The county sheriff does not publish a municipal warrant roster. A city result may not appear in a county list, so contact the municipal clerk when the notice names Kermit or Wink.
Winkler County Kermit Municipal Warrant and Citation Channels
Kermit's official court page links a dated warrant publication and a separate citation-search/payment service. The public portal offers citation, license, vehicle, name, and business routes, but the city does not call it a full warrant list. The clerk can confirm whether a citation record has become a warrant.
The four-page PDF is dated December 3, 2025, and uses scanned pages rather than searchable fields. It should not be copied or treated as current status.
See the Kermit Municipal Court page for the court links.
The page separates the dated publication from the citation lookup.
Winkler County Municipal Warrant Courts by City
Only Kermit and Wink have city municipal courts in the official records reviewed. Unincorporated-area citations are routed through a justice court rather than a city counter. Each court has its own contact and payment path.
| City | Court | What It Handles |
|---|---|---|
| Kermit | Kermit Municipal Court | City ordinances, traffic, fine-only Class C |
| Wink | Wink Municipal Court | City ordinances, traffic, citation and FTA process |
Winkler County Wink Municipal Warrant Clerk
Wink's clerk page says the municipal clerk maintains case files, answers status and court-date questions, collects fines and costs, and prepares legal warrants, summonses, and orders. That makes the city clerk the first record contact for a Wink citation, not the county sheriff.
Wink Municipal Court is at 303 E Hendricks Boulevard, and its listed phone is (432) 527-3343. The city page does not publish a separate warrant roster or warrant-search form.
Wink's Court Clerk page identifies the clerk's role.
The official page ties warrant preparation to the municipal clerk's regular case-file duties.
Checking a Winkler County Municipal Court Warrant
Use the portal tied to the city named on the citation, then call the clerk. Kermit has multiple search paths; Wink verifies a citation-number search under criminal search. Neither city publishes a complete live roster.
For a JP citation, contact JP 1 or 2 instead. A city's municipal clerk cannot clear another court's process.
- Check the court name on the citation before opening a search or payment page.
- Use the citation number and date of birth in Kermit's portal, or the citation number in Wink's route.
- Call the municipal clerk to confirm whether a warrant issued and whether a judge date is required.
- Ask the clerk how to pay or appear; call the police only for a service or safety question.
Winkler County Kermit and Wink Warrants Need Separate Calls
Kermit Municipal Court lists (432) 586-2825 and a city payment route at 110 S Tornillo. Wink Municipal Court lists (432) 527-3343 at 303 E Hendricks Boulevard. The same citation or payment question should not be sent to both offices unless the paperwork names both.
| City | Online route | Records confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| Kermit | Tyler citation search and dated court PDF | Municipal clerk, (432) 586-2825 |
| Wink | GovRec citation-number search | Municipal clerk, (432) 527-3343 |
Both city pages provide their own records path; the sheriff does not combine them into one public list.
Inside a Winkler County Municipal Court Warrant
A city record may show a citation or cause reference, ordinance or offense, issuing court, date, payment terms, and status. Winkler County sources do not publish a standard municipal warrant-number format or guarantee that every field appears in a portal.
Kermit's PDF is a dated image document; Wink directs readers to the clerk and citation-number portal. Confirm whether the city record is active and what action the judge requires.
| Citation reference | Local warrant-number format not published; use the number on the citation. |
|---|---|
| Offense | City ordinance, traffic, Class C, or failure-to-appear matter. |
| Issuing court | Kermit or Wink Municipal Court. |
| Payment or bond | Confirm amount and whether a court appearance is also needed. |
| Document date | Kermit PDF: 12/3/25 is a publication date, not a current-status field. |
Winkler County Municipal Warrant Safe Harbor
Wink's safe harbor is a specific court policy. The city says people with its own outstanding traffic warrants may call, schedule a judge setting, and use the walk-in docket on a regular court date without being arrested by that court for voluntarily arranging the setting.
It does not cover Kermit or JP, felony, or out-of-county warrants. Kermit publishes payment channels, but not the same safe-harbor assurance. Ask Kermit Municipal Court about a voluntary appearance before going in person.
Wink's official procedures and fines describe the policy.
How to Resolve a Winkler County Municipal Court Warrant
Call the issuing city court before paying or appearing. Kermit lists a cash-or-credit drive-through kiosk, a citation portal, and an after-hours payment number, but its pages do not promise that payment alone recalls every warrant. Ask whether a judge setting or other action is required.
Wink accepts online card payment, mail money order with citation details, and in-person cash, card, or money order. The court can explain time payment and community-service options if the person cannot pay in full.
- Confirm the warrant type, current amount, and court with the clerk.
- Ask whether full payment, a plan, a new setting, or a safe-harbor visit applies.
- Keep the receipt and written or docket confirmation after court action.
- Ask whether DPS/OmniBase still needs a separate update for a reported FTA.
Warning: Kermit has no published safe-harbor promise, and Wink's policy is city-specific. Confirm the correct procedure before walking in.
Winkler County Municipal Warrant Counts
The Texas Office of Court Administration reported 1,600 Kermit Class C arrest warrants and 56 capiases pro fine for September 2024 through August 2025. These figures measure municipal activity for a reporting period, not a current list of people.
The report gives city totals, while the separate justice-court report covers a different court system and year. Do not combine them into one Winkler County total or use them to infer an individual status.
OCA municipal activity report provides the aggregate counts.
